I am slogging along with the Clarion Write-A-Thon and Camp NaNoWriMo virtual workshops. I am even losing track of the days, due to this slogging. Meh.
The thing about my writing process is that I do a lot of it in my head: while exercising, while at the grocery store, while playing Bejeweled Blitz. Then, I sit down and write in a burst. This works for me, but I feel like a failure since these workshops usually require an almost daily writing rate in order to make any stated goals.
(speaking of goals: I may have been a wee too ambitions for Camp NaNoWriMo. 50K words is looking a bit bleak right now.)
Not to mention, giving a daily update is sometimes a masterpiece in minimalism. Every writing period includes character development, plot change (especially when it deviates from one’s original vision), and the like. There’s not much to say every day, except for updating my word counts (or lack thereof) for the world to see. I find it tedious, and I suspect you may as well.
That being said: I will not be giving daily, blow-by-blow accounts of my writing goals and updates for these workshops (unless you specifically ask for them, in which case I will try to appease my reading public). But I will give periodic updates as to how the new projects are going. I am approximately two weeks away (!!!) from my book launch of The Camille Chronicles, so I’m really focusing more on that effort.
Thank you all for paying attention, and thanks for stopping by.
